Installing SimCity 3000 Unlimited landmarks in SimCity 3000
Author: Peshi Date: Saturday, May 25 2002 A lot of people have been complaining that there simply aren't enough landmarks for owners of SimCity 3000. There is no landmark converter for SC3K either (which in my opinion is a pity). Fortunately for SimCity 3000 owners there is a way to install SC3KU landmarks. THIS IS FOR OWNERS OF THE WINDOWS VERSION ONLY. Before you unzip anything you need to download the SimCity 3o00 1.1 patch/BAT from simcity.com. After you installed the patch you need to open windows explorer and go to "..\SimCity 3000\apps\" and create a directory called "plugin". Once this is done you are ready to unzip the landmark files. If you are installing a user made landmark just open winzip. If you are installing a Maxis landmark you need to press the "open winzip" button. If you don't do this the self extractor will check to see if SimCity 300 Unlimited is installed. Extract the contents of the .zip file to "..\SimCity 3000\apps\plugin\". Make sure that you are extracting a folder named exactly the same as the .PIN and .DAT files in the folder. If the zip only has a .PIN and .DAT create a folder in "..\SimCity 3000\apps\plugin" named exactly the same thing as the .PIN and .DAT files. That's it! The landmarks should now appear in your landmark list. |
